Born in the inland of South-Eastern St James, Montego Bay, Jamaica, Mrs Dorine Maraire nee Chisholm has 42 years of experience as a Business Woman in Southern Africa and abroad. She was crowned the 3rd best Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the year in 1985 – an achievement that became an inspiration to women at national level. Dorine was one of the few black women who conducted business in the heart of Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare before independence. She also attained the position of Executive Director for the Women Multimillion Dollar Round Table (WMMDRT) in 1995 – a women empowerment enterprising initiative. In her capacity as a business mentor, she was invited to be the secretary of the Indigenous Development Centre (IBDC) organisation. In 1999, she was offered a position of honorary Consul for Jamaica in Zimbabwe. She holds vast experience in the area of Leadership, Business management, Fund raising, mentorship and education. Dorine holds a Master of Science Degree and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business from the University of New York College at Buffalo. She has also earned a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of The Mico in Jamaica. Currently, Dorine sits on the board of a global scholarships company that assist children from all walks of life with universities in Africa and abroad – an inspiration driven from many years of working with students as a university lecturer in the faculty of business, psychology and agriculture. Dorine is always in search of new ideas and discoveries, her interest in travelling, listening to music, getting involved with community initiatives, visiting art galleries and mentoring has attributed an array of experience to her very extensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
