On Preparing Grounds for #AWLCATLANTA2017, What AWLO Founder/President; Hon. Elisha Attai has Been Up To

I have traveled across continents to Atlanta Georgia USA, to convene African Women in Leadership Diaspora Conference 2017 a.k.a #AWLCATLANTA2017. It’s been a warm reception, thanks to the super USA Team led by our AWLO USA VP, Emilia Orubele. I am proud of the formidable team, and what they have been putting together.

Speaking of which, we are on finishing touches for the Conference, and I am super excited! Can you imagine gathering women of African Descent from different works of life to have conversations, deliberations, capacity building, and expand their networks, ultimately to advance their leadership status? This is what I live for; to see that women take their rightful place as home and nation builders with equal rights and opportunities. We will talk more about this during the conference.

Here is What I Have Been up to Since Arriving

My team and I met with the Director, Mayor’s Office of International Affairs City of Atlanta; Claire Angelle, to solidify ties.

I was also warmly welcomed by wife of the Nigerian Consulate General in Atlanta, Mrs. Idowu Laro, at the Nigeria House in Atlanta

AWLO USA VP; Emilia Orubele and I, had great time-out with DJ Ezzy B & Shontica Wallace of 106 live radio Atlanta

These are Some of the Wonderful People I Met With

It was an honor to meet with Asnath Mahapa; the first black female pilot in South Africa. She is the founder of African College of Aviation, and pilot of South African Airways.

I also met with Sam Tandon, MBA; V.P- World Trade Center Atlanta, Board Director.

I Met with John Eaves, Ph.D. – Fulton County Commission Chairman. The leading candidate for the office of MAYOR OF ATLANTA this year.

To crown my efforts with the best news yet, AWLO is now officially recognized as a 501(c) organization in the federal law of the United States. More news on this coming soon.

I can’t wait to see you in Atlanta!
