The #1mother1child give back project was launched in 2015.
It is estimated that 30 million children remain out of school in Africa and in many areas, the girl child is still denied access to education. Since it is self-evident that education is the passport out of poverty and many other vices that plague women and children in Africa, AWLO’s flagship #1mother1child program is positioned to integrate the instinct, culture, and passion of motherhood into meeting the needs of these left out children.
Under this program, women leaders under AWLO are guided and supported to adopt and nurture a mother/child relationship with one girl or boy child at a time outside their immediate families. Through mentorship, coaching, and material support, each mother shall be responsible to ensure that her child completes their education successfully.
#1mother1child doubles as a campaign to honour and celebrate motherhood as an example of the most important leadership role that women play in society. We aim to draw attention to the sacrifice of women in this area, celebrate mothers and motherhood, while encouraging our mothers (every woman) in AWLO to extend the power and culture of motherhood to one boy or girl child at a time. At AWLO, we recognize motherhood as a great gift, a worthy honour, and a unique way to solving the problem of out of school children.
For measurable results, we have developed a 6 step process both to help guide participants and to monitor the entire process end-to-end.

The African Women in Leadership Organization launched a Web TV in December 2015.
To mark the Launch of AWLO TV (tv.awlo.org), Africa’s First Women Web TV, a flagship campaign christened #SHEVOICES was launched .#SHEVOICES campaign by AWLO TV, is about heralding the voice of Women. It will be projecting, celebrating and networking 500,000 women (#SHEVOICES). It seeks to reaches out to women to make their voice count through partaking in the campaign, meeting other women and making an impact.
#SHEVOICES has a special category, dedicated to women who are deemed to personify the essence of the campaign. They are called “#SHEVOICES INSPIRATION”.
